NBC, "The More You Know"
The National Broadcasting Company has promoted the Stop Bullying Now! Campaign and messages through its "The More You Know" (TMYK) public service campaign, one of the longest running, most comprehensive and powerful public service campaigns ever launched by a media company. The Emmy and Peabody award-winning public service spots reach millions of viewers each week. For more than a decade, TMYK has educated and raised awareness about important societal issues.
NBC aired two PSAs targeted to tweens and teens. These network PSAs featured David Schwimmer from "Friends" and Sharif Atkins from "ER," both popular NBC personalities who appeal to a diverse viewing audience. The PSAs encourage action and involvement by featuring the Campaign's toll-free phone number. The TMYK Web site provides critical information about the Campaign and its resources, as well as a Web link to the Campaign site.
National Association of Broadcasters (NAB)
NAB, the membership organization that represents radio and television broadcasters in Washington and around the world, is also a Campaign partner. NAB is distributing the Campaign's public service announcements to radio and TV broadcasters across the U.S. and encouraging them to devote valuable airtime to these messages. In addition, NAB has created and distributed a booklet for NAB member stations with further details about bullying prevention and the role local broadcasters can play in bringing attention to this issue.
